Alanya is – like almost all Turkish cities – a safe city with very low crime rates. The touristic and international status has many advantages: in most places the shopkeepers, waiters and staff do speak a bit of English and German, and there are always compatriots to be found in Alanya. All annoying or industrial activities are forbidden in the city itself which makes Alanya a peaceful city with relatively low traffic and quiet streets compared to big cities.
